“The thrill is not just in winning, but in the courage to join the race.”

Simi Valley Running Rebels is a non-profit, volunteer-run youth athletic club that competes in track and field and cross country events within the Ventura County Youth Track Conference.

SVRR’s goal is for our athletes to have fun, improve their physical and mental well-being, and obtain an appreciation for individual and team sportsmanship.

Our emphasis is to focus on giving one’s best effort and bettering his or her personal best!

Practices begin Monday, February 2, 2026, and are generally held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons, and on Saturday mornings. Most practices are held at the Royal or Simi High School tracks, although there are workouts for distance runners on local trails after Daylight Saving Time ends in early March. Meets are held on Saturday mornings at locations in Ventura County.

The Rebels is a non-profit organization that relies entirely on volunteers, including our board members and coaches. As such we require that each family with a registered athlete/or athletes complete volunteer hours during the season, typically assisting at the meets, although there are other volunteer opportunities that may be announced.

We are still looking for parent coaches for this season, in particular sprint coaches for different age groups. Head coaches are able to register their children for the season at no charge, and assistant coaches (who are able to attend a minimum number of practices) will satisfy their family’s volunteer requirements for the season!
